We’re on the lookout for a human to form and lead our partnerships for The Marketing Meetup. This is a role that could eventually grow into being a shareholder in the business with recognition for being one of the core team of TMM as we grow. Not just growth for growth’s sake - but growth for the benefit of impact.

We run a bunch of events. A BUNCH. Plus we have our jobs board, courses, and way more. Like anything in life, these things need money to continue running and providing our community with smiles and knowledge.

There are a group of lovely folks who support us in these, and we need to make sure we’re giving them the time and attention they deserve, in addition to finding new people like them. That’ll be your job.

And so, we need an entrepreneurial, enthusiastic and kind person to come in, grow our strategy, then implement it. 

We need someone who is capable of walking the line between being motivated by growing numbers, but in a way that is respectful to the intent of the community who come together to learn and grow together with kindness. If you’re a commercial human capable of walking this line, we want you :)

Your main tasks would be:

  • Commercial strategy contribution - We want you to take what we’ve built over the past six years and help shape it into something more compelling, useful, and ‘market leading’ (whatever that means :))
  • Sponsorship - Finding and approaching sponsors for our IRL and digital events
  • Jobs board growth - Growing our jobs board, making more folks aware of it’s existence, and helping folks list on the jobs board
  • Account management- Maintaining relationships with our respective sponsors

We need someone who is:

  • Knowledgable - You already know the expectations our partners will have, and have a foundational knowledge of common requests partners will be asking when they enter into relationships with organisations such as TMM.
  • Personable - Our partners often come into TMM already feeling like friends. With this in mind - you find it easy to get on with people and look forward to chatting with you.
  • Act with honesty and integrity - We’re not interested in making a quick buck. Instead we want someone who can come in and build honest, long term relationships.
  • Proactive - You won’t be micro-managed so knowing you’re on the hunt for ways to do things better would be really comforting.
  • Driven by kindness - We’re here to help support our community first and foremost. We need someone who shares our motivation for the bigger picture, as frankly… that makes everything else make sense :)
  • Willing to learn - In all ways! We’re all on a journey of figuring out how to communicate, do things better, and become better people. Folks who can show that they love learning is really appreciated and admired. The use case in particular I have in mind as typing this is in regard to learning new bits of tech/software and being comfortable doing that but applies across a spectrum of things.
  • Enthusiastic - End of the day, we all appreciate working with people who feel like they want to be there. A general ‘can-do’ attitude is key :)
  • Care about standards - You’ll expect a lot from yourself. Not because you’ve been told to, but because you want to do a good job for yourself and the people you’re helping

Salary:

  • £35,000 - 40,000 per annum, with a commission based on contribution to community
  • Opportunity with options to gain a Director level position with equity, based on performance targets over a number of years
