Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior B2B Marketing Manager to help us identify new audiences and generate demand.

Why? Because our growth so far has been down to two things:

  1. Word of mouth – driven by customers who think our product is genuinely valuable, and our customer experience is world-class.
  2. Inbound marketing – from long-term efforts in content, product marketing and SEO.

We’re proud of how we’ve grown because it’s largely been organic. But we think now is the time to step things up. We believe if we can reach more potential customers, we can grow – and grow quickly.

We’re looking for a B2B Marketing Manager to identify – and scale up – new marketing activities that create awareness and demand in untapped market segments.

We’re looking for someone:

  • Who understands how to reach the right audiences at the right time
  • With a creative and entrepreneurial mindset
  • With a broad experience in different marketing channels and tactics
  • Who experiments with new ideas, seeks regular feedback and learns from the results.
  • Who can ruthlessly prioritise and plan – taking what works and developing it into an established marketing approach within the business

You should also be:

  • A strong writer / communicator
  • A natural networker
  • Results-driven

Ideally, you will have experience marketing B2B software in a startup or scaleup environment.

What will you be responsible for?

As part of your role you’ll:

  • Use market and customer insights to identify actionable audience segments and marketing opportunities.
  • Devise and execute projects / campaigns that make new audiences aware of Geckoboard and make progress down the buyer journey.
  • Analyze the results – so we can scale up the things that work, and learn from things that don't.
  • Contribute to our overall marketing strategy
  • Collaborate on projects with the rest of the marketing team.
  • Manage freelancers and ad spend where necessary
  • Speak regularly with customers and potential customers (customer insight is at the heart of everything we do)

We’re not committed to any particular channels or marketing mix, right now. That’s because a) we believe tactics should always follow the strategy and b) we want to play to your strengths and experiences.

Potential marketing activities might include any of the following:

  • Collaborating with other brands, media channels and content producers
  • Creating and managing digital advertising campaigns
  • Planning and managing traditional, offline advertising campaigns
  • Sponsoring podcasts, webinars and shows, or creating our own.
  • Securing promo slots or speaker opportunities at industry events

For context, our customers are leaders in small to medium-sized businesses with an online component to their business. Our strongest markets are SaaS companies and Customer Support teams.

We’re a bit different in that we don’t have a Sales Team. Instead, we have a fully-featured free trial and customers purchase directly online. In practice, that means marketing at Geckoboard is not about generating leads for someone else to convert. It’s about connecting the right customers with a product they need.

Where will you work?

We’re a global team of 30+ people. Most people at Geckoboard choose to work remotely, however, we do have a small office in Shoreditch, London, for those who want a change of scenery or for when it’s useful to meet face to face.
