About Us

We’re Urban Jungle and we’re here to change the insurance industry for good.

Urban Jungle was founded in 2016 after we experienced first-hand just how rigid and outdated the insurance industry is. We saw no embrace of technology and no empathy for real-world situations - like how people are renting for longer, and with more flatmates. We knew people shouldn’t have to settle for less.

We brought our own-label insurance products to market in 2019 and have since sold over 80,000 policies. Putting the customer at the heart of what we do and leveraging the use of technology, we’ve built insurance products that are fair, simple and created for the times we live in.

We continue to diversify our product range to meet the needs of a new generation of people. Going from strength to strength, we placed 1st in the TechRound100 2021, 12th in the Startups100 2021 and we won the “Best Employer Award” in the UK FinTech Awards 2021. We’ve raised $22M to date and have amassed over 4,000 5-star TrustPilot reviews.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to help us achieve our ambitious growth plans to take us from start-up challenger to being the go-to brand for our target audience.

We need you to hit the ground running, picking up our core brand with ease so you can think about how we can best position ourselves. We know that you’re eager to learn about building a brand from the ground up, and you’ll have the opportunity to get stuck in and help us develop our Marketing arm.

You’ll be working alongside our growing in-house team across Marketing, Commercial and Product to evolve, shape, and mould our brand. We're focusing on driving consistent revenue and margin growth, whilst diversifying our marketing mix beyond that of performance-marketing channels.

In this role, you’ll report to our Marketing Director, Laura Woodhead.

Here’s what you’ll get up to:

  • Review our previous channel performance, creative and strategy and plan what we should be doing next.
  • Generate tried and tested audience and channel strategies for the launch of new products, channels, and markets.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of a variety of campaigns - developing insight-led and inspiring creative briefs to analysing campaigns post-launch.
  • Build strong working relationships with our agency partners to achieve desired results.
  • Take a “test and learn” approach to continuously optimise our content and spend.
  • Utilise insights from other teams (Product, Engineering, Customer Operations) to ensure we stay customer-first in our approach.
  • Build and optimise processes to improve communication between multiple teams when we launch new products.

You've read this far! Here's what we need from you:

  • Demonstrable experience across a wide range of Marketing channels (e.g. ATL, Partnerships, Direct Mail, PR, SEO). You’re a true generalist and are eager to develop your channel knowledge even further.
  • Strong communication skills to manage both internal stakeholders (ensuring effective planning and briefing of campaigns and execution) and external stakeholders to build lasting relationships.
  • Creativity in abundance! You’re comfortable generating creative concepts and seeing them come to life!
  • A genuine passion for Marketing and the impact it can have on a growing brand.
  • Ultimately, you’ll be a highly ambitious self-starter with the drive to push both the business and yourself to the next level!

These requirements are a guide as to what we’re looking for, but if you don’t have all of the skills listed above, that’s okay! Please don’t let that hold you back from applying if the role excites you.
