We need a creative marketing manager who is excited about the possibility of being innovative in their field. If you’re fascinated by the construction industry, especially plant machinery, and how the market is transforming on issues of safety and sustainability, then check out this role. The successful candidate stands to be at the very heart of the communications strategy and fulfilment for a business whose profile is going from strength to strength in the sector.

 You will be expected to: 

  • Work closely with the leadership team - especially the strategic manager - to conceive, manage and co-ordinate all of Flannery Plant Hire marketing initiatives, including events, case studies, awards submissions, website content and social media activities.  
  • In co-operation with our marketing consultancy agency develop an original and inspiring over-arching marketing strategy for the organisation at a national level. 
  • Manage and recruit marketing staff and build an effective team ready to take the initiative on building and maintaining a clear and consistent profile in the construction industry across all channels – effectively, police our brand! 
  • Develop detailed marketing strategy and plans for all the company’s communication channels, profiles and presence, including the website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube. Oversee the production of all communications related to marketing. 
  • Write marketing collateral including e-shots, website and press release copy, as well as social media content, and be responsible for managing, co-ordinating and sourcing external suppliers when necessary. 
  • Take the lead on reporting and reviewing marketing goals and results to the leadership team, and work within the department budget to develop ongoing cost-effective marketing plans. 
  • Plan for and represent Flannery Plant Hire at key industry events and develop strategic business relationships in the field.  
  • Craft successful tender submissions in co-operation with the strategic manager and leadership team. 


  • Proven track record in marketing and a stable work history. 
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions. 
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone and voice of our business's various types of content.  
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to work independently and manage multiple projects with many moving parts. 
  • Passionate about and a strong understanding of the plant hire and construction industries, and our business mission. 
  • Up to date with the latest thinking in marketing trends and tactics. 
  • Experience of managing digital and print marketing projects and evidence of innovative use of both. 
  • Knowledge of implementing marketing systems and processes that enable smooth teamworking with colleagues, both in person and online.  
  • Ideally a higher education qualification in marketing, although proven experience is just as important. 
  • A full UK driving license is essential.
