Mission Remission is the first & only UK charity dedicated solely to supporting people move forward after cancer.
We’re here to ensure every cancer survivor has the emotional, physical, financial and community support they need to live a happy, healthy, independent life beyond treatment. We are also a strong, outspoken voice campaigning for long-overdue change.
We focus on the often-ignored stage of cancer support: the months and years post-treatment. Trauma, long-term side effects, recurrence anxiety, financial fallout, and identity loss are common, yet NHS services often stop at this critical point in recovery. Over 90% of people say life after treatment is as difficult as the diagnosis itself. We provide a sanctuary for all, including the 52% of people who face a rarer cancer and have no large disease-specific charity to champion them.
We are a user-run organisation, everyone in the team has faced cancer. With over 19,000 people across our networks, our community borrow resilience, motivation and self-belief from others who have been in the same position.
We believe that life after cancer can be filled with possibility, if people have the resources and support they need to thrive. Our support work includes:
Our online Life Beyond Cancer toolkit, sharing over 150 stories and strategies for life beyond cancer
Mission Possible (our fitness & walking programme)
Mission Thrive (our counselling and coaching programme)
The Recovery Café (our monthly online meet-ups), which each help survivors connect, rebuild strength, and find hope.
But support is only half the story - we also push for bold, structural change. While past campaigns have focused on early diagnosis, our current work calls for a stronger financial safety net, dismantling the barriers preventing people from returning to work.
